conscious-languageThe words we use on a regular basis can influence things.

Lately I have found myself using a phrase, “I don’t care.” far too often

A while back had a series of clumsy accidents. I tore ligaments in my knee, then re-injured it even worse than before. It changed the way was doing things in a major way. Because it was more than one injury, it took longer to recover than normal. I had to let go of a few things I was normally doing around the house.

The other problem is that after dealing with a couple months of a painful knee and back pain stemming from walking funny, I also began to get depressed. That’s where I started noticing those words showing up way too much. Whenever I would see something that needed to be done but I either couldn’t do it or didn’t feel like doing it, I’d say, “I don’t care.” There’s dust bunnies, “I don’t care.” Look at those spider webs, “I don’t care.”

That injury and the knee surgery was over a year ago but occasionally I still catch myself using the words “I don’t care” when I didn’t get something done. Yikes! Using the words “I don’t care” is not anyone’s best interest. There has to be some other words to use because those words are not true. I care very much.

We use affirmations to program our subconscious to be a certain way. EFT is a tapping of affirmations and statements to shift things emotionally and physically. Our words are VERY important. When we say things like “I don’t care” over and over we are actually programming our subconscious. Do we really want to program our subconscious not to care? What if that not caring overflowed to relationships with friends and family.

I have been thinking of a replacement phrase to say instead of “I don’t care.” I think I will say, “I’m not worried about it.” “I know it will get done when I’m ready.” “Ha Ha! There is another one.” Maybe I should have said, “I will meditate on that a bit.” šŸ˜‰

When you catch yourself saying something or using words that are not in your best interest, stop, and say or think “Cancel” “Clear” or “Delete,” then reframe the words with something better.

Saying something once in a while isn’t going to hurt anything but when we keep saying something, that’s where we need to be careful. There is POWER in the words we use, especially ones we use often.

I can’t …
I am sick and tired of …
I’m tired …
I hate …
I hate to see …
I can never …
I can’t stand …
I’m broke.

You can’t create abundance or prosperity if you believe in lacks. You will need to reprogram yourself to believe that you can have abundance. Believing in lacks means you believe you will never have enough money for what you need.

Do you find yourself saying things like:

“I can’t afford that.”
“I just can’t seem to make ends meet.”
“I never have enough money.”

You need to stop programming yourself for a lack of abundance. Years ago when I first learned about abundance and conscious language, I realized I had to stop saying, “I can’t afford it.” Somehow when you say things enough, your subconscious makes sure it happens. I changed that to, “I don’t choose to spend money on that right now.

There is a book I highly recommend called “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.” by Joseph Murphy.

Energy follows thought. You get what you think about.

I was reading a newsletter from The Tapping Solution and I thought you would benefit from the information. The article was written by Nick Ortner on releasing the negative emotions that come from incidents that happened in our childhood or even the not so distant past.

Nick tells about an incident from his past and about how to use the Movie Technique. I often use this technique when doing visualization but this is a great way to release negative feelings about things that happened in the past.

Nick’s article got me thinking about embarrassing situations that happened in the past that could contribute to feeling uncomfortable in the spotlight of leadership. Do you remember any times when you were doing a book report or some other presentation in front of the class and you messed up? I remember one time during a junior high public speaking class we were doing impromptu exercises where we had to speak without notes on a subject. When it was my turn to speak, my mind went blank. I couldn’t remember anything about what I was supposed to talk about so I just started talking about something unrelated. It was sheer babbling to fill time.

I remember another incident where one of my friends tripped on microphone cords and fell off the stage. Several people laughed. Somehow that affected me, even though it happened to my friend. Ever since then, whenever I have to go on stage I am worrying about tripping or falling in some way. I also worry for my friends when they are going on stage.

I appreciate Nick Ortner’s post. I will reflect on my past and do this EFT technique to clear the negative emotions around those incidents.

Think about things that happened to you or things you witnessed in your past. Are there any of those things causing you uncomfortable feelings now?

Here is a clip about that technique from The Tapping Solution’s blog:

Tapping Tip: Tapping Out Your Captain Kangaroo Experience

Hereā€™s an easy three step process to clearing an event from the past.
    1. Pick the event.
Try to be as specific with it as possible and only start with one for now. You can do more later, but now, focus on ONE experience where someone said something to you, where you said something, where you learned that it wasnā€™t safe to stand out and be YOU.

    2. Rate the intensity of what happened.
When you think about the event, feel what you felt then or even what you feel now about it, and rate the intensity on a 0-10 scale.

    3. Start visualizing the event as a movie.
With your eyes closed, tap through all the points, as you see the movie play. Keep tapping through the points, moving whenever you want, and running the movie again and again, in as much detail as possible, See it, feel it, smell it, hear it, make it real and keep tapping. Notice what stands out to you most about the movie, and focus on that issue. Notice where you feel a ā€˜chargeā€™ and focus on that, and just keep tapping, tapping, tapping.

Tap until you can see the movie, without feeling an emotional charge.

What have you done? Youā€™ve healed that event, cleared the emotional charge, processed the stuck energy through your body, reminded your body itā€™s safe!

Rinse and repeat for any events that you can think of! (I made this joke before, ā€œrinse and repeatā€ referring to what the shampoo bottle says. Someone took it very literally and emailed asking if they should shower in between each tapping session! Itā€™s actually not a bad idea, water is very cleansing, but you donā€™t have to do it between each tapping round. šŸ™‚ )

At first glance perfectionism seems like a good thing. We all want to do things well but in reality perfectionism is killing the progress in many network marketers business.

I hear it all the time. “I can’t start selling the products until I learn more.” I don’t know enough to build a business.” “I don’t know how to be a leader yet.”

I have heard all kinds of reasons why people can’t build their business yet. It is the number one reason people give me as to why they don’t want to start writing a blog. They don’t feel like they know enough so they will wait until they know more.

Funny thing that happens when you wait until you know enough. You never seem to get to that point. There will ALWAYS be more to learn. Our fears can keep us stuck in a state of analysis paralysis. There is no perfect person on the planet! We are all human and we WILL make mistakes.

I love that quote by Joe Schroeder, “You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it GOING!” The way to get anywhere is to start from where you are right now and learn as you go.

Here is the key:

Learn things –> Share what you learned! –> Repeat –> Learn things –> Share!

If you are writing a newsletter or a blog, you can share things you are learning. Share things that will benefit other people. There are many people in need of the things you have learned. Even if you are a brand spanking new distributor, you can start writing a blog.

Writing a blog and building a list is one really powerful way to build your business. It’s absolutely HUGE in importance, especially if you have any plan to do any online marketing.

Once you begin writing your blog, don’t be so worried about getting it perfect. Just get it going. šŸ˜‰

I know how easily you can get caught up in details and perfectionism. It’s something I have struggled with over the years in my business. When you find yourself stalled because of trying to get things just right, remind yourself of Joe’s words.

You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it GOING!

You also may want to try the EFT Tapping Session below to help clear feelings of needing things to be perfect. I love EFT for this kind of thing. It really helps me get back on track. Hey There! I decided to do my own 30 day EFT challenge to boost my self-esteem and I thought I’d invite you to join me.

Self-esteem is important if you want success in anything you choose to achieve but especially in business. It has been an issue throughout my network marketing career but I have been able to move forward in spite of it. I know things would have been much faster if I did not have to deal with certain issues related to my self-esteem.

Whenever I step into new areas in my business, I find myself resisting change. When that resistance comes up, I find myself delaying getting things done in the area I intend to move ahead in. For example, last fall I started writing an Ebook on EFT for network marketers. It was the first time I wrote an Ebook and I had all kinds of worries and fears: Am I good enough write an Ebook? Will people want to read it? Will it help people? Will it make me too visible?

OK, I have been teaching EFT to downline for about 10 years. I have seen lots of benefits myself and in the ones who use it regularly. I know most of my worries are silly and rooted in self-esteem issues. That’s why I decided to do this 30 day challenge. I really want to make a shift in my self-esteem so I can remove the resistance to moving in the direction I intend to go in my business. I know there are lots of others who have fears based in self-esteem issues so I thought, why not work on this together?

For the next 30 days, with the exception of Sunday I will do a blog post related to self-esteem. These will be short blog posts with 2 audio EFT Clips you can play and tap along with and a downloadable EFT script you can easily print out. Each day I will do a tapping session: “I Like Myself As I Am”, PLUS, whatever EFT session is included for that day.

The tapping session: “I Like Myself As I Am” is a crucial part of this 30 day challenge. That is the core of self-esteem. Liking yourself as you are is key to making all changes in positive directions. It can be applied to ANYTHING you want to change in your life. Do this session daily, even if you don’t have time to do the other ones.

If you want to participate in this challenge, get on my list. You can do that by filling out the subscribe form on the right side of this page. If you are already on my list. You will get the daily posts automatically.
